UNS — The Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, through the Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS), has again graduated new specialist doctors who have just completed their education at FK UNS. The event was attended by the Acting Vice Rector for Research and Innovation UNS, Prof. Dr. Kuncoro Diharjo, S.T., M.T.; the Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K); the Vice Deans of FK UNS; the Acting Deputy Director for Hospital Services of Dr. Moewardi Surakarta Hospital, dr. Heri Dwi Purnomo, Sp.An(K); Deputy Director of Finance and Human Resources UNS Hospital, Dr. Jaka Winarna, M.Sc., Ak.; as well as all the Heads of the PPDS Program FK UNS at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine UNS, Friday (21/7/2023).
In the release of specialist doctors for the July 2023 period, FK UNS released 14 PPDS students. Based on the academic report presented by the Vice Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs FK UNS, Paramasari Dirgahayu, dr., Ph.D, 14 participants consist of 3 from the Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy Program, 8 from the Internal Medicine Program, 2 from the Orthopedics and Traumatology Program, and 1 from the Ear, Nose, and Throat Health Program.
In this release, there was a participant with the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) achieved by Komarudin, dr., Sp.P.D. with a GPA of 3.89 from the Internal Medicine PPDS Program. Meanwhile, the youngest graduate in this PPDS Release was Ega Caesaria Pratama Putra, dr., Sp.P.D. from the Internal Medicine PPDS Program, who was 30 years and 1 month old at the time of graduation.
Marcellino Mettafortuna Sephberlian, dr., Sp.P.D., representing the graduates, expressed his pride in becoming a student at FK UNS and thanked the campus for all the guidance and education provided during the learning process.
“We hope that the experience and knowledge we gained from our teachers can be applied and utilized to benefit the wider community. Ultimately, good knowledge is knowledge that is beneficial to others, “he said.
In his remarks, the Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K). said that the newly inaugurated specialist doctors must be ready to face many challenges ahead of them.
“The challenges for specialist doctors are quite numerous. Apart from new cases, there may also be challenges from the changes in the 4.0 world community that will impact changes in the field of healthcare services, as well as challenges from regulations that will see many changes,” Prof. Reviono said.
However, Prof. Reviono advised the alumni of FK UNS not to be afraid of these challenges.
“All of you are graduates of FK UNS, which is one of the best faculties of medicine in Indonesia. The selection process for PPDS students is quite rigorous, so it can be assured that all of you are the best in your field,” he concluded.
The Acting Vice Rector for Research and Innovation UNS, Prof. Dr. Kuncoro Diharjo, S.T., M.T. took the oportunity to address the new specialist doctors. “I hope that all of you whom we release today will continue to be enthusiastic about becoming lifelong learners and dedicating all your knowledge for the benefit and progress of public health services. As a very noble profession, it is only fitting that all of you maintain the good name and image of UNS and always have an attitude of mutual respect towards patients, families and colleagues,” Prof. Kuncoro explained.
With the release of specialist doctors in the July 2023 period, FK UNS had graduated 1,709 specialist doctors since its establishment in 1976, who are now spread throughout the country and have applied their knowledge in various institutions, including in the fields of healthcare services, education, research, and as government, private, TNI/POLRI specialist doctors, and others.
