UNS — Thee Faculty of Teachers and Educational Sciences (FKIP), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, officially held a field tennis match between the previous study programs in FKIP UNS. The matches were carried out in commemoration of the 46th UNS Anniversary. The match was held at the FKIP UNS Gelora Kampus Merdeka and lasted for two days, Wednesday-Thursday (9-10/3/2022).
The championship was started with a welcoming remark from Fajar Danur Isnantyo, S.T., M.Sc., as the Committee Chairman in this tennis competition. He states that the purpose of this tennis match is to strengthen friendliness, foster sportsmanship, and improve sports performance in the FKIP environment.
“Field tennis match activities have the purpose and objective to strengthen friendship among lecturers, academic support staff, and alumni. Also, fostering sportsmanship and increasing achievement in the FKIP environment is in line with our jargon ‘healthy minds start from being healthy’ and can be achieved through this tennis court game that lasts for two days,” said Fajar.
In addition, Fajar hopes that the field tennis match can support the UNS Anniversary celebration agenda. “On behalf of the committee colleagues, I hope that, hopefully, through this field tennis match can support the success of the 46th UNS Anniversary,” hope Fajar.
The event was followed by a welcoming speech from Prof. Dr. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Si. On this occasion, Prof. Slamet Subiyantoro, as Chairman of the UNS 46th Anniversary Committee at FKIP, hopes for this event to be a friendly event at FKIP and to maintain FKIP Faculty members’ physical health.
“First, for this event to strengthen silaturahmi. There will be togetherness, sincerity, and mutual support, which is very important. The objectives are to promote togetherness and express our gratitude for the beloved university that has stepped into its 46th age. In addition, this activity can maintain our physical health,” explained Prof. Slamet.
The following opening statement was delivered by Dr. Mardiyana, M.Sc., as Dean of FKIP UNS. Dr. Mardiyana said a tennis match was held to enliven the 46th UNS Anniversary. In line with Prof. Slamet Subiyantoro, he also said this activity serves as a networking event for the faculty in FKIP.
“The first purpose of this activity is a networking event for lecturers at FKIP UNS who rarely meet during this pandemic condition. Hopefully, the collaboration and communication among the former study programs in FKIP can be preserved through this competition. Secondly, to enliven the UNS Anniversary. Hopefully, we can maintain our faculty members’ physical health,” said Dr. Mardiyana. Next, Dr. Mardiyana thanked both the organizing committee and participants for organizing the event and participating in this activity.
Eight former study programs in FKIP are participating in this competition, such as Natural Science Education (IPA) Study Program, Social Science Education (IPS) Study Program, Language and Literature Education (PBS) Study Program Team A, Language and Literature Education (PBS) Study Program Team B, Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program Team A, Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program Team B, the FKIP Dean Team and FKIP United Team. There were 47 participants in total.
There are several activities to enliven the 46th UNS Anniversary in FKIP. There are international activities, and events related to inclusive education for the academic program, regional song cover competition for art program, and the faculty also conducted blood donor activities as well as facilitator training for students with disabilities.
