UNS – Fauziyah Azhari, S.Si., an alumnus of the Chemistry Study Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, secured the third-best award in the ALMI Thesis Award 2023. The ALMI Thesis Award is a recognition event dedicated to Bachelor’s program graduates throughout Indonesia who have produced quality theses or written works.
The award ceremony was organized by the Indonesian Young Scientists Academy in conjunction with the Congress of Indonesian Young Scientists (KIMI) at the Design Center, Faculty of Art and Design, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) on Saturday, December 9, 2023.
During the congress, the winners of the ALMI Thesis Awards 2023 were announced, recognizing the theses of recent graduates, divided into five categories: natural sciences, health, social humanities, engineering, and education. Out of a total of 160 participants, three finalists were selected for each field. Fauziyah successfully secured the third-best position in the natural sciences category after going through the presentation and interview stages held in early December.
Fauziyah expressed her joy and gratitude for the award she received. Her initial interest in participating in this award was sparked by the suggestion of her thesis advisor, Prof. Dr. rer.nat. Witri Wahyu Lestari.
“It all started with the offer from my thesis advisor, and I felt interested and challenged to participate in this award. I would like to express my gratitude to Prof. Witri and Dr. Abu Masykur,” Fauziyah said on Thursday (14/12/2023).
Prof. Dr. rer.nat. Witri Wahyu Lestari and Dr. Abu Masykur, S.Si., M.Si., both served as thesis advisors for Fauziyah Azhari. With the award she has received, Fauziyah hopes it will assist her in pursuing further studies and inspire other students to follow in her footsteps. HUMAS UNS
