UNS — Widya Putra Dharma Kindergarten of Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, welcoming the surrounding residents by holding a Bazaar and selling generous groceries. This activity is conducted in the Widya Putra Kindergarten located on Jalan Pembangunan II No. 82 Perum UNS Jati, Jaten, Karanganyar, Monday (25/4/2022). The Ramadan Bazaar was opened by the Chairman of DWP UNS, Budhi Widjajanti Jamal Wiwoho, S.E.
In her remarks, Budhi Widjajanti said that in this Ramadan, DWP UNS held a ‘Berbagi Tiada Henti’ program. Starting from the bazaar hosted on the UNS campus, vegetable sharing (Tebar Sayur) in various places, sharing iftar meals, to organizing Ramadan Bazaar in Widya Putra Kindergarten. “Widya Putra Kindergarten belongs to DWP UNS, so we want to share and greet residents around the kindergarten with this Ramadan Bazaar activity,” explained Budhi Widjajanti.
Visitors to the Ramadan Bazaar at Widya Putra Kindergarten can buy clothes, new mukena (praying robe), a variety of items such as shoes, bags, fragile utensils, and many others at affordable prices. Moreover, there are also processed foods, canned biscuits, syrup, and eggs. “The target of this bazaar is the residents around Widya Putra Kindergarten. We provide 100 packages of Groceries containing rice, oil, sugar, and tea that are valued at Rp. 60,000, but sold by UNS DWP for Rp. 30,000. And we also distribute 150 vegetable packages to residents around Widya Putra Kindergarten. This activity can also serve as media to educate the residents, thus, they can share with each other,” she added.
In the opening ceremony, the Widya Putra Kindergarten also received a grant in the form of miniature dolls with traditional costumes from all provinces in Indonesia from Doctor Andri Putranto’s family from the Faculty of Medical Science (FK) UNS. The doll miniatures with traditional clothes were made by children with special needs. “The doll can be support tools for learning activities at Widya Putra Kindergarten to get to know traditional clothes,” said Budhi Widjajanti.
