UNS — Live with Covid-19 for more than 1.5 years has changed the social structure of Indonesian society. The New Normal, a new term used by the President of Indonesia to invite people to live together with Covid-19 by putting forward Indonesian people safety. Unfortunately, the health protocols put in place to ensure their safety sooner or later made people tired and started to put aside the suggested health protocols. In the long term, this ignorance will danger the community through the increase of Covid-19 cases.
Responding to the indiscipline actions, Group 211 of Student Community Service Program (KKN) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta initiated an education program through Taman Edukasi (Educational Park). Taman Edukasi is a creative program that aims to educate the community on the Covid-19 pandemic and is decorated using the decorative staking method.
The educational program was implemented in Gawanan Hamlet, RT 4 RW 6 Sukoharjo Village, Sukoharjo Sub-District, Sukoharjo District started from Thursday (12/8/2021). Dyah Yuni Kurniawati, S.Sn., M.Sn., supervised the Group and completed the program on Sunday (29/8/2021).
“The implementation of Covid-19 Education Program using Decorative Stacking Method was implemented through the creation of a park with Covid-19 education theme named Taman Edukasi on the riverbank of Gawanan Hamlet, RT 4 RW 6 Sukoharjo,” Mayang said.
The park is also equipped with wooden decorations that invite people to be aware of the Covid-19 spread. These wooden decorations were designed uniquely to catch people’s attention when they visit Taman Edukasi.
The Group also planted medicinal plants in the park and added aesthetics ornaments such as lamps, hanging plants, and decorative rocks. The Group also installed banner in several strategic places to remind people to implement the health protocols. Humas UNS
