UNS — Almost all lecture sessions at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) are required to be held in-class sessions, starting Monday (22/8/2022), including the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). The Dean of FEB UNS, Prof. Drs. Djoko Suhardjanto, M.Com. (Hons), Ph.D., Ak., said that the initial in-class lectures at FEB went well and admitted that FEB had been preparing for in-class lectures for many days. “Thank God, the initial in-class lecture today went smoothly. Small problems remain, but the overall process went smoothly, starting from classroom distribution, classroom equipment, laboratories, toilets, parking lots, waiting rooms, and various documents and forms required for in-class lectures have been well prepared. Thanks to everyone, especially the FEB UNS academic support staff, who have worked hard for the seamless in-class lectures,” he said.
In the release received by unc.ac.id, Prof. Djoko revealed that the learning materials could be delivered more conveniently through direct meetings or face-to-face sessions. Because lecturers and students can interact directly, thus, they can get to know each other more closely.
Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Bandi, M.Si, Ak, Vice-Rector for General and Human Resources Affairs UNS, can see students’ enthusiasm in initiating offline lectures today. However, according to him, fifth-semester students have weak material comprehension after receiving material virtually for two years. “Before starting the Advanced Financial Accounting course, I gave some questions to the fifth-semester students, who received material virtually for more than two years, and the students have weak material comprehension, this is a heavy burden, we need to work hard,” he said.
Responding to this, Prof. Bandi proposed that students in the third and fifth semesters were given more assignments because they had never received an offline lecture at all. Humas UNS
