UNS — The Ilmu Quran (IQ) in collaboration with the Islamic Student Activity Unit-Jamaah Nurul Huda (JN UKMI) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, held a ifthar teaching. This teaching discusses the Makharijul of Arabic Alphabets and Tajweed within a program entitled ‘Sinau Tahsin Al-Qur’an‘ (SINTA-Q). The event commenced through Zoom Cloud Meeting on Friday (30/4/2021). The event invites Faris Alrosyid as the IQ UNS Organization Board of Trustees. The event is scheduled to take place every Friday for three weeks straight, starting on April 16th, 2021, attended by UNS students.

Faris explains the correct procedure for pronouncing hijaiyyah letters and tajweed rules. He stresses the importance of repeating the knowledge learned to maintain it. “Those who understand tajweed will be the same as those who do not if they do not repeat their knowledge,” Faris stated. Additionally, Faris advised not to forget praying before learning tajweed. On this occasion, Faris explains various materials regarding ghunnah and mad thabi’i. While according to him, the best method to learn is using the talaqqi method.

Furthermore, he suggested having a teacher when learning the tahsin Al-Qur’an. “We need a teacher when learning something, and it is important to know their educational background. As for the learning method, talaqqi method is the best method,” he explains.

The talaqqi method is implemented by learning to read the Qur’an face by face with the teacher. This method focuses on the mouth and lips movements to get the correct pronunciation (makhrojul). This method is also known as musyafahah method.

After the material presentation, the session continues with the question and answer section and is concluded with a message from Faris. “Learning Al-Qur’an is interesting. We need to instill that learning the Qur’an is only for the Allah ta’ala. Even if we are still young or old already, everyone must continue to learn,” Faris concluded. Humas UNS
