UNS — Volunteer Corps (KSR) PMI Unit Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) took another role in the vaccination program in Surakarta from 30 August to 3 September 2021. This time, KSR UNS sent four to five personnel to participate in the vaccination program held by the Surakarta Health Office in Grha Wisata Niaga Vaccination Center.
Contacted by uns.ac.id, Angga Firda Tamara, as the Commando of KSR UNS 2021, stated that his personnel involvement in the program is based on the direction from UNS Medical Center.
“The KSR UNS personnel has a duty in data input, blood pressure check, and identity collection,” Angga said.
KSR UNS personnel assisted a vaccination process for around 70—100 people each day that consisted of students, university students, and the public. The personnel has preparation before participating in the program. Each personnel must be fully healthy, and those who received full dosages of vaccines are prioritized. The selected personnel is then going through a briefing on their duties in the location, the program mechanism, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
To support their duty in Redcross and humanity fields, KSR UNS provided vitamins and medicines for its members and families.
“We also prepared complete PPE to support the personnel’s activities, such as hazmat, face shield, KN95 mask, latex gloves, and UV sterilizing equipment and room after it is used,” Angga added.
As an association that most of its activities are in the field, the pandemic poses great challenges for Angga and the team. One of the challenges is the limited number of personnel available because many students haven’t returned to Solo. Thus, the association needs to maximize its human resources in Solo Raya.
“We also conduct routine daily picket scheduled in 3 shifts, to sterilize the basecamp, and be available in the basecamp if there is an emergency call,” the Diploma Program in Marketing Management FEB UNS stated. Humas UNS
