UNS — The Postgraduate Program Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta is still open registration for Period I 2021, Batch 2 from 14 June – 30 July 2021. UNS Postgraduate Program is a higher level of Higher Education Program following the bachelor degree opened in 1986. Following the growth of several Programs in UNS, based on Director General of Higher Education Department of National Education Decree No. 414/DIKTI/Kep./1999, UNS Postgraduate Program started to offer postgraduate education independently in 1998.
UNS Postgraduate Program aims to shape graduates with the knowledge, skills, and academic capability needed to be teaching staff, planners, developers, and researchers in related institutions and create research findings oriented on knowledge, technology, and arts development, for national and international prospective students.
The Chief of UPT SPMB UNS, Prof. Dr. Hadiwiyono, stated that UNS Postgraduate Program opens admission for 46 Master Programs (S-2) and 20 Doctoral Programs (S-3). Each program has different study loads ± 36 – 42 Semester Credits for Master Programs/S-2 and ± 42 – 55 Semester Credits for Doctoral Programs/S-3. The programs were designed to be completed in four semesters for Master Programs and six semesters for Doctoral Programs. Theoretical courses have ± 32 Semester Credit for Master Program and ± 12 Semester Credits for Doctoral Program. The remaining Semester Credits are assigned for thesis or dissertation. Several programs provide matriculation programs for prospective students. “UNS Postgraduate Program has sufficient teaching staff with Professor and Doctoral qualification. UNS Postgraduate Program is supported with sufficient learning facilities in implementing its learning process,” Prof. Hadi stated.
The admission process for UNS Postgraduate Program is held in two periods, Period I for programs that start their learning process in September (Odd Semester) and Period II for programs that start their learning process in February (Even Semester). The admission examination consists of Academic Potential Test (TPA), English Proficiency, and Interview. The factors considered in the admission process are administrative evaluation, GPA, Program accreditation, TPA Score, and English Proficiency. The registration for Period I, 2nd Batch is held online with Registration Fee payment and required document upload from 14 Juni–30 July 2021. The applicant’s proof and document verification are scheduled for 1 July – 30 July 2021.
The trial for the online examination is scheduled for 5 August 2021, and Online Examination is set for 7 August 2021, and Interview is scheduled for 6 August 2021. The selection result will be announced on 13 August 2021. Applicants are required to have a Bachelor’s Degree diploma in certain fields as regulated by each program.
