UNS — Nazhir Wakaf and Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta distributed 165 tablets to UNS students affected by the pandemic. This distribution is conducted on Tuesday (17/8/2021) during the new Hijiri Year 1443 celebration. Previously, Nazhir Wakaf had conducted fundraising with total collected funds of IDR 265,810,000.

This program was promoted because many UNS students could not participate in online learning because they do not have adequate electronic devices. The tablet computer was distributed to 165 students from 11 faculties, vocational school, and postgraduate school with diverse races, religions, and ethnicity.

The Chairman of Nazhir Wakaf UNS, Prof. Triyanto, thanked all community and UNS academic members who have supported and participated in the fundraising process.

“We have managed the waqf funds from the academic members, and we manage it into investment or development, including in Bali cattle farm which generated result for the aids for UNS students and for the table donation for UNS students affected by the pandemic. This donation was distributed to students with diverse races, religions, and ethnicities,” he stated in his opening remark.

Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, the Rector of UNS, appreciated the Nazhir Wakaf performance that collaborated with the UPZ UNS.
