UNS — Nazhir Waqf Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a study session and distributed tuition aid to 46 UNS students on Friday (18/3/2022) in Ruang Sidang IV dr. Prakosa Building UNS. This event was held concurrently with the UNS 46th Anniversary celebration.
The event was opened with an opening remark from the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum., represented by Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs UNS and Coordinating Board of Nazhir Waqf UNS, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Sajidan, M.Si., who also appreciated the event.
“Today (we) distributed tuition aids for 46 selected UNS students. Hopefully, this aid could ease students’ financial burden to pay their tuition,” Prof. Sajidan stated.
Prof. Sajidan added that the aids could motivate students to achieve success, graduate on time, get their dream job, and become successful people in the future. The chairman of Nazhir Waqf UNS, Prof. Dr. Triyanto, S.H., M.Hum., thanked the committee for the smooth proceeding of the event. “This event was prompted by the large numbers of UNS students affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, making it hard for them to pay their tuition. Therefore, the tuition aid from Nazhir Waqf UNS is expected to ease their burden,” Prof. Triyanto stated.
Prof. Triyanto hoped that Nazhir Waqf UNS could continue to develop and more people receive benefits from the tuition fee aids. In line with Prof. Jamal’s message through Prof. Triyanto that no UNS student should drop out from their study because they could not pay their tuition. The aids were also distributed to all UNS students from all groups without differentiating their ethnicity, religion, race, or culture. The event was concluded with prayer recitation by Prof. Yusep Muslih Purwana, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.
One of the students receiving the tuition aid was Agnes Ardiani from the State Administration Science Program Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UNS, who was grateful for the tuition aid.
