UNS — Opening 2022, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta executive exercised by walking around UNS Kentingan campus on Friday (7/1/2022). The exercise was held on a free emission day held by UNS on every first Friday of the month.
On the occasion, the UNS executive board from the Rector of UNS, Vice-Rectors, Deans, Directors, to Head of Bureau participated in the exercise starting from dr. Prakosa Building UNS. From dr. Prakosa Building UNS, the group, led by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, walked to the Faculty of Agriculture (FP) UNS, Faculty of Medical Science (FK), Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science (FMIPA), Postgraduate Study, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD).
Vice-Rector for Management and Human Resources Affairs UNS, Prof. Dr. Bandi, stated that this exercise was held on the free emission day. “This is the first free emission day in 2022. The executive board wanted to exercise then the academic staff from the head office, and Faculties/Institutes/Units conducted collective gymnastics,” Prof. Bandi explained.
Besides walking, the occasion also served as a means to conduct monitoring the cleanliness of each faculty. “We often came to faculties using electric bicycle or car in the free emission day. But it turns out to be different by walking. By walking, we could see the cleanliness of the surrounding area directly. Even from FP to FK, we did not take the main street, but we took a track that people rarely take. Thus, we could see the condition of each faculty from various sides directly,” he added.
On this occasion, Rector, Vice-Rectors, and Deans from other faculties also provided suggestions on the cleanliness of the faculty they visited. This activity is expected to encourage improvement if there are spots that are considered to be not fully clean.
“Cleanliness is important because it is one of the points assessed in the international accreditation. Therefore, we continue motivating (the faculties) to keep all building faculties in UNS to be clean,” Prof. Bandi added.
Due to the time limitation, several faculties such as the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Faculty of Engineering (FT), Vocational School, Faculty of Sports (FKOR), and UNS Hospital were not visited on this occasion. “We plan on the other free emission days. The result of this monitoring regarding the cleanest faculty will be announced by the Rector of UNS,” Prof. Bandi stated. Humas UNS
