UNS — For the first time, Student Scientific Festival (Festival Ilmiah Mahasiswa – FILM) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta was held online. The prestigious annual scientific event was held by Student Association in Scientific Study (SIM) UNS. This year FILM main event was held on Sunday (21/3/2021) through Zoom Cloud Meeting Application.
The theme for FILM this year is Inspiration, Innovation, and Contribution of Indonesian Golden Generation in the New Normal Era. The theme was selected with the hope that the young generation will stay productive in creating works in the New Normal Era. “It’s such a shame if in the new normal, the golden generation of Indonesia does not improve their productivity by participating in a competition. Therefore, we want to provide a means for fellow students to be productive amid the new normal era,” Farrel Rizky Budiman, the Chief of FILM 2021, explained.
FILM consists of several events, such as a national essay competition, scientific writing competition, and poster competition with 360 participants from Indonesia. A gathering night combines games, performance, and videos on advertising, interests, and talents of the finalist were all held online. However, the managing committee is gathering in Student Bureau UNS to manage the national event flow.
Farrel explained that the FILM was held to commemorate UNS 45th Anniversary. The event was attended by the UNS executive board, who delivered opening remarks, members of SIM, and various speakers. The invited speakers are Safhira Al Farisi, the Founder of Beasiswa 10.000 (10,000 Scholarship), Maharani Kemala, the Founder of Ms. Glow, and Parama Suteja, Student from Solo who successfully passed the examination in 11 universities in the USA.
This year, FILM brought a deep impression for the student of Diploma Program (D-3) in Tourism Business (UPW) Vocational School (SV UNS), Farrel, because he got new friends and successfully inviting big speakers for the event. In the future, he hopes FILM can be held offline and livelier than this year. He also hopes that the team can work better. Humas UNS
