UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta students held a talkshow on the facts and myths of the Covid-19 vaccine. This event aims to educate the community on the widespread hoaxes concerning vaccinations. The talkshow was held between the vaccination process held in the Faculty of Medical Science (FK) UNS.
The students involved in this event are Muhammad Rasyid Ridho, Nada Syifa Al Biruni, Nur Khofifah Aprilia, Raden Roro Alifiandri Rahmantya Putri, Renasheva Alifia Nugraha, Reza Pahlevi Prastawa, Roisya Nur Farhania, Safira Hasna Rosyida, Salsabila Nur Rahmah Ali, and Sandya Naufal Budiyanto from Medicine Education Program FK UNS in B4 Group Thematic KKN FK UNS 2021.
The short talkshow had SKIPI DONAT: Talk Show in KIPI about Diving Through Vaccine Side Effects Hoax vs. Fact in Social Media as a theme. Under the supervision of Heni Hastuti, dr., MPH, the team targeted to reach 80 Covid-19 vaccination participants in the post-vaccination observation room (KIPI) FK UNS on Wednesday (11/8/2021).
“This talkshow discussed the myths and facts of the Covid-19 vaccine that spread in the community. For example, the myth that Covid -19 vaccine contains a microchip, the myth that Covid -19 vaccine caused Covid -19, the facts that nausea, fever, and muscle ache can be felt after Covid -19 vaccination, and many other myths and facts on Covid -19 vaccine,” the Group B4 Team Leader, Muhammad Rasyid Ridho, explained.
The talkshow was Group B4 community services for the society and Covid-19 FK UNS vaccination participants to correct the hoaxes in the community.
“This program also has pre-test and post-test to assess participants’ comprehension,” Safira Hasna Rosyida, Group B4 member, stated.
SKIPI DONAT Program also has other activities on social media, including quizzes and challenges in the @vaksinasifkuns Instagram account.
“With SKIPI DONAT, we hope that vaccination participants could be educated and will provide correct information for the community so that no community member feel afraid and hesitated to get Covid-19 vaccine,” Rasyid added. Humas UNS
