UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) held the third commencement ceremony in 2017 in front of dr. Prakosa building of UNS, Saturday (8/7/2017). A total of 746 graduates — 266 awarded cum laude — from graduate, undergraduate, and specialty of medicine programs were celebrated in the ceremony.
“There are 746 graduates registered for today’s commencement, 12 of whom will be awarded a doctoral degree, 116 a master’s degree, 15 a medical specialist, 460 a bachelor’s degree — 23 graduates from Faculty of Cultural Science, 142 from Faculty of Teacher Training and Education 52 from Law Faculty, 58 from Faculty of Economics and Business, 30 from Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, 20 from Faculty of Medicine, 45 from Faculty of Agriculture, 53 from Faculty of Engineering, 37 from Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences — and 143 an associate degree (D3) — 7 graduates from Faculty of Cultural Science, 75 from Faculty of Economics and Business, 49 from Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, 4 from Faculty of Medicine, 6 from Faculty of Engineering, 1 from Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and 1 from Faculty of Arts and Design,” Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Sutarno reported.
UNS Rector Ravik Karsidi conveyed words of encouragement to all the graduates, which denoted that they are expected to enhance all competencies and potential they possess for preparations to compete well both at national and international levels.
“The ASEAN economic community era dictates greater competitiveness. Therefore, two primary things need to be fully perceived with the mind, the first is certificate. That won’t be enough, though, unless you include competencies to enhance, and the enhancement requires you to open your mind and feel and follow the will to always learn more and more,” said Ravik. humas-red.uns/Ref/Eln
