UNS — Indonesian Flying Robot Contest (KRTI) in Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) was officially opened on Monday (15/11/2021) by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho. KRTI 2021 will be held in the next five days until Friday (20/11/2021) in G.P.H. Haryo Mataram Auditorium UNS. The opening ceremony was also attended by the Chief of Center for National Achievement (Puspresnas) Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek), Chief of KRTI 2021 Managing Committee, Prof. Dody Ariawan, Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, Vice-Rector for Management and Human Resources Affairs, Prof. Bandi, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Affairs, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, and Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs UNS, Prof. Sajidan.
In his report, Prof. Dody stated that KRTI 2021 is participated by 163 teams from 61 universities in Indonesia in four divisions with different themes. The divisions are Racing Plane (RP), Fixed-Wing (FW), Vertical Take-off and Landing (VTOL), and Technology Development (TD). “This competition aims to facilitate students in creating in the aerodynamic field, especially flying robot. Besides as a means of building networking, information exchange, and educating the community, students, observers, researchers, and flying robot activists,” Prof. Dody reported.
Muslih, M.Si., the Head of Administration Subdivision Puspresnas, stated that KRTI is a part of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) implementation that aims to encourage university students to be active in an academic while developing themselves as a creative, competitive individual with strong characters. “KRTI is held to train university students on unmanned flying vehicles, which includes an assessment on configuration, control, data collection, flying parameters, observation, mapping, and delivery of packages in a location or vertical building,” he added.
In his opening remark, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, appreciated Kemendikbudristek’s trust towards the Faculty of Engineering (FT) UNS as host and managing committee of KRTI 2021. “UNS is committed to always providing the best services for the success of unmanned vehicle or KRTI contest from 15-20 November 2021. Welcome and have a fair competition, 163 teams from 61 universities in Sumatera, Batam, Java, Bali, Borneo, Sulawesi, to Maluku Utara,” Prof. Jamal said.
In the next five days, all 163 teams will compete in the annual contest held by Puspresnas. Besides hosting the contest, UNS also participated in the competition through its representatives from the Bengawan UV team, who succeeded in participating in the final round in all four divisions. Humas UNS
