UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta through the Community Partnership Program (Program Kemitraan Masyarakat – PKM) Research Group (RG) Indigenous Psychology of Psychology Program Faculty of Medical Science (FK) UNS educated Islamic study group in An-Nur 45 Mosque, Nusukan, Surakarta.
The PKM Team that consisted of Dr. Tri Rejeki Andayani, S.Psi., M.Si., Dr. Budiyanti Wiboworini, dr. Sp.GK., dr. Nanang Wiyono, M.Kes., and Farida Hidayati, S.Psi., M.Si., shared materials on how to maintain mental and physical health amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Iman and imun (belief and immune) are the appropriate strategies to be applied in the pandemic situation. Therefore, social and religious activities should be implemented in the community, followed by people’s awareness to adapt to the new normal.
For Muslims, the mosque is not merely a place of worship but also a place of da’wah and learning. Therefore, to prevent the new Covid-19 clusters from such activities, the Research Group took the initiative to educate the study group to ensure that all mosque activities are implemented under a strict health protocol.
The program was branded using an exciting shortened version as “SALAM SMART” (Selalu bersandar dan berharap pada Allah SWT, Asah kepedulian, Latihan fisik teratur, Ayo taat Prokes dan dukung vaksinasi, Makanan bergizi, Silaturahmi, Mengelola stres, Anti hoax, Relaksasi, Tangguh) (always believe and pray to Allah SWT, hone awareness, regular physical activities, apply health protocol and support vaccination, eat nutritious foods, maintain a good relationship, manage stress, anti-hoaxes, relaxation, and resilient).
“The implementation of this program was postponed due to the PPKM and online event (is not possible) because the members are elderly with limited technology and internet access,” Dr. Tri Rejeki Andayani, S.Psi., M.Si., PKM UNS team leader, stated on Friday (15/10/2021).
The program was implemented on Thursday (7/10/2021) through an offline event under a strict health protocol. The event was attended by around 50 people. The Chief of Takmir An-Nur 45 Mosque, Ustaz Mustofa, in his opening remark, thanked and hoped that PKM UNS could be implemented continuously.
At the end of the event, dr. Nanang handed an educational poster to Ustaz Mustofa and distributed health protocol support packages to all participants. The package includes a mask, handwash, hand sanitizer, praying rug, and SALAM SMART poster. The package is expected to remind participants to apply health protocols during their activities in the mosque and at home. Humas UNS
