UNS — Business Management Unit (BPU) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held another external audit for the Bottled Water (AMDK) Smartwasser. The external audit was performed by the Product Certification Institute (LsPro), the Center for Product Testing and Quality Certification (BPSMB) Surakarta, led by Nugroho. With two other fellows, Tertiari as auditor and Nurul Hidayati as an observer, Nugroho conducted an external audit in the Drinking Water Treatment System Building (SPAM) as the production site for AMDK Smartwasser. The external audit was conducted on Tuesday (30/11/2021).
The audit was also attended by the management of AMDK Smartwasser, the Chairman of BPU UNS, Dr. Zainal Arifin. ST, MT, Chairman for Quality Team, Dr. Ir Choirul Anam, and several BPU UNS staff.
The external audit aims to assess the implementation of SNI 3552:2015 in AMDK Smartwasser products. The audit was conducted once a year following the issuance of SNI certificate in line with the SNI agreement in 2020. The AMDK Smartwasser received its SNI 3553:2015 certificate on 16 November 2020. Consistency with SNI 3553:2015 is needed for AMDK Smartwasser to gain consumers’ trust outside UNS. “And ready to be marketed outside UNS,” Endang Martini, one of BPU staff, added.
Smartwasser is a bottled water brand owned by UNS that comes from the word Smart, an abbreviation of Sebelas Maret, and wasser, a Dutch word that means water. Therefore, Smarwasser means ‘the drinking water of Sebelas Maret.’
The external audit runs from 08.30 am to 04.00 pm local time. The audit team used those seven hours to check water sources from two different pump wells, to check the well in the production room, and to check the production process. The team also assessed the quality document before announcing that AMDK Smartwasser is consistent in implementing the SNI 3555:2015. Humas UNS
