UNS – The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta and Miho Gakuen High School was followed up on Wednesday (9/5/2018). Eight students who recently graduated from Miho Gakuen Japanese High School visited UNS to explore the campus on as they plan to study in UNS on August 2018.
There are several places in UNS that were visited by the these Japanese students, such as International Office (IO) UNS, UNS Museum, and UNS student dormitory. While visiting these places, they were accompanied by Murni Ramli (Deputy International Office UNS), Masakatsu Tozu (Professor emeritus Kokushikan University Japan), staffs of IO UNS, and Takanobu Shina (UNS postgraduate student from Japan). According to Tozu, the students will learn Bahasa Indonesia along with the culture in UNS.

“They chose to study at UNS because they are interested in culture and Indonesian language. In addition, they are Taiko players during high school. Taiko is a traditional Japanese drum. So, they have the interest in its culture,” Tozu explained.
According to Murni, the student will study in Indonesia through Darmasiswa scholarship as the implementation of the MoU between UNS and Miho Gakuen. This scholarship is from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
