UNS — A total of 35 delegations from the Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta for the National Student’s Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQMN) 2021 are selected. These delegations are selected through a series of internal selection, where the final stage was held on last May 2021.
Out of the 35 delegations, 2 students will compete in Tilawatil Quran, 2 students in Tartilil Quran, 1 team (consist of three members) in Syarhil Quran, 1 team (consist of three members) Fahmil Quran, 4 students in Khaththil Quran, 2 students in English Debate category, 2 students in Arabic Debate category, 1 team (consist of 2 members) in KTIQ, 1 team (consist of two members) in DAQ, and 1 team (consist of 5 members) for Al-Qur’an Recital on Prophet’s Mawlid. Meanwhile, for the 5 Juz Hifdzil, 10 Juz Hifdzil, 20 Juz Hifdzil, and 30 Juz Hifdzil categories, there will be 2 delegations for each category.
When contacted by uns.ac.id, Sultan, as the Chair of Internal UNS MTQ Committee, reveals that there will be a Training Centre program following this selection. In the program, the delegations will be trained intensively by the trainer to be more ready and mature in competing in MTQMN. He added that the Islamic Spirituality Student Activity Unit (UKM) and several lecturers are directly involved in the intensive training process. “Even more, there will be invited trainer from Quran Tilawatil Development Institute (Lembaga Pengembangan Tilawatil Quran – LPTQ),” he explained on Thursday (17/6/2021).
Regarding the target for the competition, Sultan, who also serves as the administrative staff for the Qur’anic Study Student Activity Unit (UKM IQ) UNS, states that the delegations are expected to win, maintain or be able to accomplish better results than the 2019 MTQMN.
Each category, according to him, has great potential to win, specifically for the Hifdzil category. This is supported by the special admission channel for Hafidz Qur’an. “Hence, supporting the objective as well as providing many students with great potential,” Sultan states.
In the last 2019 MTQMN, UNS succeeded in bringing home two champions title as the 2nd Runner-up in Female Musabaqah Hifdzil Qur’an 30 Juz category and 2nd Runner-up in Musabaqah of the Prophet Muhammad Mawlid. Humas UNS
