UNS — The Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta hosted a friendly match between UNS FC and Journalist FC. The match was held at UNS Stadium, Friday (11/6/2021), attracting enormous enthusiasm proved by the number of players attending.
The soccer match was held to strengthen Silaturahim (friendship) between UNS and media journalists in the Great Solo Region. Similar explanations were given by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwono, who attended the event to support both teams and officially open the match. He added that the match is a friendly match.
“We should encourage favorable sportsmanship, but further, it is about our friendship,” said Prof. Jamal.
The friendly match coincides with the release of animals in the UNS campus environment, which was conducted at UNS Stadium right before the match started.
“We released 55 turtledoves. The number ‘5’ is chosen to signify the UNS position as ‘Kampus Benteng Pancasila,’” Prof. Jamal explained.
Prof. Jamal adds that the release of animals in the UNS area shows that the campus cares about the preservation of animals in the campus environment. The 55th turtledoves are expected to strive and to grow in the UNS area. Prof. Jamal even hopes that the 55 birds can grow into 550 birds or even 5,500 birds.
“In this context, how to add various fauna to our green campus,” Prof. Jamal added. Humas UNS
