UNS – As one of the efforts to attain the goal of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta to be a world class university, International Office UNS held a seminar entitled “Education in Malaysia” that was aimed to accommodate the students in finding out more information about Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) Malaysia. The seminar took place at Seminar Room, 2nd Floor of UNS Library on Tuesday (15/5/2018).
Jane Teng Yan Fang (President Director of International Office UPSI) along with his colleague, Encik Nazar Mohd Zahidi bin Mohd Azahar, and Hana Afifah (master student of UPSI were invited to be the speakers in this event. This seminar discussed the information related to UPSI, such as campus profiles, facilities, international relations, departments, faculties, courses, accreditation, tuition fees, and the admission requirements.
Jane Teng Yan Fang informed that continuing the study to UPSI requires the students to have cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.75 in minimum and TOEFL or IELTS certificate. However, if the students enroll through the scholarship provided by an institution, they need to follow the requirements of the scholarship. Furthermore, to find out more information and updates from UPSI, the students can access the official website on www.upsi.edu.my.
“Indonesian students do not need to submit TOEFL or IELTS score because they can still understand Malay language. Then, the master program spends 1.5 years, Ph.D program spends 2 years,” Jane Teng Yan Fang said.
“I think studying in Malaysia is affordable. Then UPSI for university education is indeed good there. So, we give encourage not only to students who are already studying education but also for those who are interested in education. I hope that this cooperation later will have Undergraduate transfer credits, or probably students of FKIP can do lecturing practice or do research there,” Muhammad Taufiq Al Makmun explained. humas-red.uns.ac.id/Tni/Dty
