UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held Public University (PTN) Rector tennis competition in Indonesia on Saturday (27/3/2021). The competition named Tenis Sahabat Rektor (TSR) (Rector’s Friend Tennis) Executive Tennis Cup was held in the Faculty of Sports (FKOR) UNS Tennis Court Manahan started at 06.30 Western Indonesia Time. The competition is the first match of the UNS tennis tournament, with more than five universities in Java and outside Java as participants. The Chief TSR Executive Tennis Cup Committee, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, stated that this match aims to strengthen public university Rectors’ friendship.
“Tenis Sahabat Rektor was initiated this year. It aims to strengthen the friendship through tennis between Rectors and their friends. Therefore, we can gather and exercise through tennis,” Prof. Yunus, Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs UNS, stated.
The Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, said that he is excited about the match. “I am happy that the Rectors can make time and participate in this match amid their activities in their respective university,” Prof. Jamal said.
According to the plan, the match is scheduled for seven universities, but two Rectors could not attend the game, reducing the number of participants to five universities. The five Rectors that attended the match are Prof. Dr. Nurhasan (Rector of Universitas Negeri Surabaya), Prof. Dr. Khomarudin (Rector Universitas Negeri Jakarta), Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman (Rector of Universitas Negeri Semarang), Prof. Dr. Sumaryanto (Rector of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta), and Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho (Rector of UNS) as host.
The matches were divided into two groups between the Rectors and their teammates and top players from each university. Considering the current pandemic, the games were administered under strict health protocols. Humas UNS
