UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta celebrates its 45th anniversary this year with various events, competitions, and ceremonies. For almost four months since February 2021, the special events for UNS were officially closed on Thursday (20/5/2021).

The pandemic did not stop UNS from celebrating its special day, mainly through the online platforms and offline events that apply strict health protocols. The peak of these celebrations was held on 12 March 2021, but the closing ceremony was on Thursday (20/5/2021) through the Zoom Cloud Meeting platform. The closing ceremony was attended by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho; the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNS, Prof. Drs. Djoko Suhardjanto, M. Com(Hons)., Ph.D., Ak., served as the Chairman of UNS 45th Anniversary Celebration Committee, executive board, faculty members, UNS academic members, and invited participants. This year’s celebration was lively, but the committee chairman hoped that it would be more vibrant in the following year.

This expectation was supported by the Rector of UNS, who hoped next year more creations and events could be held. However, he also hoped that UNS could also achieve more this year and the years to follow. This anniversary is expected to encourage UNS academic members to be more adaptable to the digital innovation that plays a vital role amid the pandemic. “With the digital transformation team, the closing of (UNS) Anniversary is expected to encourage us to be more sensitive and adaptive toward digital innovation that might change the process and aspect of running a business,” Prof. Jamal stated.
