UNS – Teacher Training and Education Faculty Universitas Sebelas Maret (FKIP UNS) is in the effort to increase its quality on a global scale through Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in South-East Asia (SEA Teacher Project). SEA- Teacher Project resulted from the cooperation with South East Asian Minister of Education Organization facilitates the foreign students to have exchange program and do project in Indonesian schools. It is part of UNS acceleration toward World Class University (WCU).
According to Nurma Yunita Indriyanti, a member of Internationalization team of FKIP UNS, international internship of SEA Teacher was conducted from 6 until 31 August 2018 at SMA Pradita Dirgantara. There were four foreign students, Velasco, Pearly Mae M (Saint Louis University), Jodelle Leah B (Saint Paul University Surigao), Fatima A. Lumongsod (Saint Paul University Surigao), and Viengvilai Punyakul (Udon Thani Rajabhat University).
“The farewell held on Thursday, August 30, 2018, was rousing. The extracurricular called Event Organizer (EO) prepared this farewell by involving all the students,” Nurma said.
In this occasion, the foreign students showed their culture. Jodelle Fatimah and Vieng danced, while Pearly sang the national song from the Philippines. This farewell was ended up by the collaboration between the SMA Pradita Dirgantara students and the foreign students.
The headmaster of SMA Pradita Dirgantara, Siswandari, along with Internationalization team gave the certificates as the appreciation for the successful teaching.
“Teaching Indonesia students will be a valuable experience for their future. They have already known that different mother tongue is not the barrier to be a professional teacher,” Nurma said. humas-red.uns/ref/Dty
