UNS — Alumnus of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Dr. Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, S.H., M.H. officially appointed as Interim (Pj) Governor of West Sulawesi (Sulbar). The inauguration was carried out by the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri), Tito Karnavian in the Sasana Bhakti Praja room of the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs, Jakarta, Friday (12/5/2023).
Prof. Zudan was appointed as Interim Governor of West Sulawesi to replace Akmal Malik. Inauguration of Prof. Zudan was based on Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) Number 39/P/2023 dated 11 May 2023, Concerning Extension of Term of Office Dismissal and Appointment of Governors. The appointment of Prof. Zudan as Interim Governor of West Sulawesi would hav a maximum term of one year.
The Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum. said that Prof. Zudan, who was appointed as Interim Governor of West Sulawesi, is an alumnus of the Faculty of Law (FH) UNS. “On behalf of the leadership of UNS, we feel proud because one of the UNS alumni is trusted by the state to lead West Sulawesi,” Prof. Jamal explained, Monday (15/5/2023).
Seeing the number of UNS alumni who are trusted by the government to contribute to the country can hopefully motivate students at UNS. “This shows a good system. Alumni can answer challenges. This proves that UNS alumni are taken into account,” Prof. Jamal added.
Prior to being appointed as Interim Governor of West Sulawesi, Prof. Zudan had nearly 8 years of experience leading the Director General of Population and Civil Registration of the Ministry of Home Affairs with good achievements in building systems, being consistent and successful in bringing considerable influence and providing innovation. Zudan’s experience is considered sufficient provision for the progress of West Sulawesi. Then in March 2023, the Minister of Home Affairs appointed Prof. Zudan as Secretary of the National Border Management Agency (BNPP).
“Prof. Zudan continues to provide innovative and inspiring leadership until now. Currently Prof. Zudan is also the Head of the FH UNS Alumni Association (IKA) and also the Deputy Head of IKA UNS,” Prof. Jamal concluded. Humas UNS
