UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta expand its collaboration with Trenggalek District Government, East Java Province. This collaboration aims to improve the implementation of Higher Education Tridharma. The partnership was marked with a Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony on Tuesday (29/6/2021) through the Zoom Cloud Meeting platform. This collaboration will improve the alignment between the local government, Higher Education Tridharma, and the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka program. The partnership is expected to enhance the synergy in resource utilization between both institutions to achieve each vision and mission.
The Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs UNS, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Sajidan, M. Si., and Dean of Faculties in UNS attended the signing ceremony. Prof. Jamal stated that this kind of collaboration is vital for UNS to synergize the potential of each institution to bring a more significant impact. Prof. Jamal also hoped that this collaboration would build a close relationship between campus and the industry, including the local government.
“Synergy between the university and local government is needed to find a middle ground of policies to develop local government and improve human resources in both parties,” Prof. Jamal stated.
As the local government representative, the Vice-Regent of Trenggalek District, Syah Muhammad Natanegara, welcomed the collaboration. He agreed with the Rector on the positive synergy between campus and local government. The Vice-Regent also explained that his team had prepared the implementation of this collaboration. He hoped that it could be implemented to the maximum degree to benefit both parties, especially his district.
“Thank you for assisting Trenggalek District to develop better,” the Vice-Regent stated.
The collaboration is set to be effective for three years. It covers education, research and development, community services, human resource development, local strategic planning, local development studies and evaluation, technical assistance for regional development, technical help for increasing local government income, and the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka program.
Hopefully, this collaboration can be implemented well and achieve its main objectives to synergize the existing resources. Humas UNS
