UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta spread its wings by building partnerships with various companies and governmental institutions, covering various aspects and potential of each collaborator. PT. Pusat Studi Apindo (Apindo Training Center/ATC) is the latest institution with which the university build a partnership.
The new collaboration is strengthened through a signing ceremony for the memorandum of understanding between the institutions on Tuesday (10/8/2021). The online ceremony held through the Zoom Cloud Meeting platform was attended directly with the President Director of ATC, Drs. Harijanto, the Directors of ATC, and Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs UNS, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Sajidan, M. Si., and university and faculty executive board.
Prof. Sajidan stated that this collaboration aims to synergize the potential and resources in both institutions in improving Higher Education Tridharma Perguruan implementation and supporting the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program. Higher Education Tridharma includes the education, training, and community services, and the MBKM program targeted in this collaboration is the Kredensial Mikro Mahasiswa Indonesia (KMMI) (Micro-Credential of Indonesian University Students).
KMMI is a supporting factor in MBKM promoted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, aiming to equip students with learning experiences that met the industrial’s needs. KMMI is expected to shape graduates that ready to take the increasingly complex global challenge, specifically to achieve the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045. A learning program representing the industrial context is expected to equip students with adequate skills to enter the industry after university education.
“ATC will strongly support the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka program, especially in micro-credential training. So, we hope this collaboration can be implemented well. We hope our partnership with ATC Apindo could improve student’s competencies as a basis for them to enter the industry after graduating,” Prof. Sajidan stated.
Further, ATC is considered an appropriate company to support the KMMI program because ATC is a center for education, training, and data and information centers research and development with legal entities. The center is also managed professionally, independently, and openly. Currently, ATC is led by Drs. Harijanto and operates in the development of industrial and human resources relations through several activities. ATC activities are regular, in-house, or in-house training series education, training, workshop, and seminar.
“Since we were selected as ATC directors, (we) already thought of collaborating with UNS. But the pandemic postponed the plan, and just now, we realized it. I think this is a good basis to be developed into various collaborations in the future. This (collaboration) is excellent to improve UNS graduates to have added values besides their title. We could start the collaboration from the smallest step to make UNS better,” ATC President Director, Drs. Harijanto stated.
As a center, ATC also has wide and strong collaboration and has several large Indonesian corporations as members to strengthen UNS partnership at the national and international level. UNS and ATC agreed on a five-year partnership, which is effective after the memorandum of understanding ratification. Humas UNS
