UNS — As an autonomous public university (PTNBH), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a discussion on the strategy to achieve the key performance indicators (IKU) PTNBH through the Zoom Cloud Meeting application on Thursday (27/1/2022). UNS invited the Chief of Information and Publication Sub-Division, Center for Data and Information (Pusdatin) Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology (Ditjendiktiristek), Franova Herdiyanto, S.Kom. MTI.

In his opening remark, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, explained the IKUs that need to be achieved by UNS: (1) Graduates find appropriate job, (2) Students received experiences outside the campus, (3) Faculty Members have activities outside the campus, (4) Classes delivered by professionals, (5) Faculty Members’ works used by the community or receiving international recognition, (6) Programs collaborate with global partners, (7) Collaborative and participative classes, and (8) Programs with international standard.

“UNS is thankful for Bapak Franova Herdiyanto’s time for sharing materials in the discussion on strategy to achieve public university IKU,” Prof. Jamal stated.

In the discussion, Franova Herdiyanto, S.Kom. MTI., shared information regarding the dashboard and data collection mechanism in public university IKU. He explained that public universities would receive funding from the State Budget for Revenue and Expenditure (APBN) through three mechanisms: funding from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) based on performance contract between the ministry and university, matching fund for income generated by universities, and competitive fund for projects planned by universities.

Franova also explained that IKU improvement aims to ensure that graduates could find an appropriate job, have experiences outside the campus, faculty members could have activities outside the campus, and professionals could teach on the campus. “Programs could also aim for international standard, class becomes collaborative, programs could develop a partnership with international partners, and faculty members’ work could benefit the community and receive international recognition,” he added.

Franova’s explanation also includes the components, funding, targets, point systems in IKU, league determination, and assistance for public universities operations (BOPTN). He also encourages universities to ensure the reporting accuracy for Kampus Merdeka activities and the semester credit system. Lastly, he explained the system that will be used to trace students’ achievement through Simkatmawa. Discussion among the participants was held after material was delivered by Franova. Humas UNS
