UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta hosted the National Meeting (Munas) II of Association of Indonesia Public University Alumni (Himpuni) 2022. The event was held in Auditorium G.P.H. Haryo Mataram UNS on Saturday (26/2/2022).
The national meeting raised the theme of “Strengthening the National Consensus towards Sovereign and Civilized Indonesia.”
The national meeting was attended directly by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia (Menko PMK RI), Prof. Muhadjir Effendy; Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho; Chairman of the Board of Commissioners Financial Service Authority (OJK), Prof. Wimboh Santoso; Presidium Coordinator, Ahmad Muqowam, S.Sos.; and the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, who attended the meeting online. The national meeting was opened by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Joko Widodo, represented by Menko PMK RI, Prof. Muhadjir Effendy.
In his opening remark, Prof. Jamal extended his gratitude for the opportunity to host the meeting. “Hopefully, all scheduled events in Munas II Himpuni could run smoothly and brings the best program decisions and recommendations,” Prof. Jamal stated. He added that Himpuni’s participation in building Indonesia’s future is significant. He also invited Himpuni to give their efforts, synergy, and collaboration with the government. “Hopefully, Himpuni could strengthen one another through a harmony of unity for advancing the nation in the future,” Prof. Jamal added.
Prof. Jamal’s remark was followed by an opening remark from the Presidium Coordinator, Ahmad Muqowam, S.Sos, who shared that Himpuni could become an association that contributes to thoughts, critics, ideas, and construction for the nation and the country. The remark was soon followed by a speech from Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka, represented by Assistant for Government and People’s Welfare of the Surakarta City Secretary, Tamso. In the remark, the Surakarta government appreciated Munas II Himpuni and hoped that the national meeting could strengthen the nation’s commitment and spirit.
“Hopefully, the results of Munas II Himpuni could build a strategy and long-term plans to improve members’ quality. Congratulation and good luck,” the remark concluded.
The last remark was delivered by the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, who stated that the ideas from Munas II Himpuni could contribute in providing suggestions for the government in handling the current global issues. “I pray for Munas II Himpuni could run smoothly,” Ganjar stated.
