UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Bank DKI to implement the Tridarma of Higher Education and the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program. The signing ceremony took place in Meeting Room 1 of the Dr. Prakosa Building at UNS on Friday (14/6/2024).
The MoU was signed by the Acting Rector of UNS, Dr. Chatarina Muliana, S.H., S.E., M.H., and the Director of PT Bank DKI, Herry Djufraini.
The purpose of this MoU is to apply and develop education, research, and community service, as well as to implement the MBKM program and develop human resources (HR). The agreement is valid for five years from the date of signing.
Despite the absence of a formal MoU, Bank DKI has previously supported UNS through sponsorships and scholarships from the Provincial Government of DKI for selected UNS students from the Jakarta region.
“We hope this collaboration will support HR development at both UNS and Bank DKI. Through this partnership, we can learn from each other and share knowledge and experiences to enhance our competencies and HR quality,” Dr. Chatarina said in her remarks.
Additionally, the MoU signing is a step by Bank DKI to provide banking services locally and address the prevalent issue of online loans affecting students.
“Beyond banking services, Bank DKI focuses on macro and microeconomic services and solving the online loan problem, which currently ensnares many students. Our data shows that the amount owed by students due to online loans is between 2 and 3 trillion or more,” Herry Djufraini, Director of PT Bank DKI, said.
This partnership with Bank DKI also underscores UNS’s commitment to contributing to sustainable development and the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045.
Collaboration with industry is a key performance indicator (KPI) for higher education institutions to maintain relevance between the industrial world and the educational world and to produce innovations beneficial to the industry.
