UNS — The success of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta in dispatching 22 students for one semester of international study through the Indonesia International Student Mobility Award (IISMA) Program in 2021 shows UNS’ commitments to achieving the title of World Class University (WCU). In order to increase the number of students passing the selection for IISMA, which is one of the featured programs within the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program hosted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) for Partnership and International Services (KLI) UNS held a series of IISMA 2022 Info Session on Friday (19/11/2021). This Info Session aims to enhance students’ understanding to make early preparation for the selection that will take place in March 2022.

After the dissemination, there will be UNS IISMA awardees’ experience sharing through social media Instagram at @internationalofficeuns,” explained Rino in his report, which was delivered at the beginning of the event.

In his remarks, the Director of Partnership, Development, and Internationalization UNS, Irwan Trinugroho, Ph.D., expressed his pride in the IISMA awardees. He hopes that next year there will be more UNS students who get the opportunity to take part in the IISMA program. “I wish for more UNS students to be dispatched next year and have the opportunity to learn internationally within the world’s top 100 universities, either through the IISMA program or other programs,” he said.

This IISMA program, as the first mobility program, is fully funded by the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP), which covers the departure process, tuition fees, living expenses during the study period at the destination university and until the process of the return journey. Dr. Irwan added that UNS would hold an internal selection and briefing for students who wish to take part in this program. “UNS through the UPT KLI will hold an internal selection, as well as a briefing for students who will take part in this program,” said Irwan.
