UNS — Two Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta students brought home another national-level competition. Alwannuha Fatah N from Structural Engineering Education and Mutiara Hana Huwaida from Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) won the 1st prize in GAYATAMA 3D Design Competition held by Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa).
In the competition participated by 23 universities in Indonesia, Alwannuha Fatah and Mutiara Hana went through a long journey before they were selected as the Best Ten in the competition.
“From registration process and announcement, from all applicants, the Best Ten was selected to go to the next round, presentation with three juries from professional and academia,” Alwannuha Fatah stated to uns.ac.id team on Friday (31/12/2021).
Alwannuha Fatah and Mutiara Hana submitted work on Smart Container Isolation (SCI) design for Covid-19 patients isolation room equipped with facilities needed by people undergo a self-quarantine.
“The concept is creating Covid-19 isolation room using a container for the self-quarantine process. SCI design is equipped with facilities and air conditioning engineering adapted to the pandemic conditions at that time,” Alwannuha Fatah explained.
Alwannuha Fatah and Mutiara Hana explained that they were inspired by their concern over the Covid-19 pandemic that still occurs globally. They also often heard complaints from people undergoing self-quarantine that the Team understands these people’s concerns.
After being announced as the winner, both Alwannuha Fatah and Mutiara Hana admitted that they did not expect the result, but they were delighted and grateful for it. They also wanted to take more opportunities and develop their potential in the future.
“Hopefully, in the future, we could maximize the existing opportunity and improve self-potential and others,” Alwannuha Fatah concluded. Humas UNS
