UNS — Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum., the Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, had officially appointed 694 new Postgraduate Program students, including Master’s and Doctoral Programs. The inauguration of the new postgraduate students for the Academic Year (TA) 2023/2024, followed by the Introduction to Campus Life for New Doctoral and Master’s Students (PKKMB) for Period I 2023/2024, was held at the G.P.H. Haryo Mataram UNS Auditorium, Monday (4/9/2023).

In his report, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S., the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs UNS, mentioned that the Admission Selection for New Postgraduate Students (SPMB) UNS Period I for the 2023/2024 Academic Year was conducted in two phases. The new postgraduate students for Master’s and Doctoral Program UNS for Period I Academic Year 2023/2024 who successfully passed the selection and completed their re-registration amounted to 694 students, consisting of 517 Master’s Programs and 177 Doctoral Programs. Moreover, out of the total of 694 re-registered students, there were 17 international students from 9 different countries.

“All of the new students are distributed across 11 faculties and one ostgraduate school,” Prof. Yunus explained.

Following the appointment, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum., the Rector of UNS, congratulated and wished success to the 694 new UNS Doctoral and Master’s Program students for the academic year 2023/2024. He expressed, “The arrival of the best and brightest from all corners of our homeland to the beloved UNS campus is indeed a source of pride for us. Why is that? Because you will become the competent generation, the owners of Indonesia’s future. Graduates of doctoral and master’s programs are figures who drive the progress and development of science, technology, and civilization in our nation.”

UNS has prepared hundreds of professors and doctors with various achievements and experiences to teach and guide postgraduate students. “Likewise, various academic support facilities are available, including reference books in the form of e-books, e-journals, textbooks, and more. Additionally,  various laboratories to support practical activities, research, and innovation for students have been prepared,” Prof. Jamal added.

To prepare and provide guidance to the new Master’s and Doctoral program students so that they can quickly adapt to their educational activities, UNS provided a brief orientation during the Introduction to Campus Life for New Postgraduate Students (PKKMB) UNS.

“I hope that you remain focused, enthusiastic, and never lose your passion for learning. My message is to never stop learning, because life never stops providing lessons. May you complete your studies on time and achieve a satisfying graduation status,” Prof. Jamal concluded. Humas UNS
