UNS — Gladhi Beksan Faculty of Medical Science (GBFK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta participated in the Ramayana Ballet in Taman Balekambang Kota Surakarta. This monthly event was held throughout the year under the supervision of the Surakarta Cultural Office. In 2021 GBFK received an opportunity to held Ramayana Ballet on the ‘Anoman Obong’ (Anoman got Burned) episode.
The ballet will be held on Friday night (25/6/2021) 19.30 WIB (UTC+7) in Stage Taman Balekambang Surakarta. The ballet will be live-streamed on UNS YouTube channel, Balkam TV, Solo Tourism YouTube, and GibranTV YouTube.
In this ballet, GBFK specially invited the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono, and UNS Hospital Director, Prof. Hartono.
The Chief of GBFK, dr. Maryani, M.Si. SpMK., stated that Ramayana Ballet Balekambang aims to provide media for groups or dance studios in Surakarta and surrounding areas. She also mentioned that GBFK UNS also participated in the same ballet in 2019 on Sinta Ilang (Sinta Kidnapping) episode.
“This year, we presented Anoman Obong episode which tells the heroism of Anoman in supporting the truth, helping Rama free Sinta from Rahwana. This episode ended with Anoman burning Alengka,” dr. Maryani explained on Thursday (24/6/2021).
The dancers in this ballet are FK UNS academic members, faculty members, academic staff, students, dharma wanita, other UNS academic members, and UNS alumni.
“The involvement of the Rector, Dean FK UNS, and UNS Hospital Director is the implementation of UNS vision to be the center for leading science, technology, and arts development at international level based on the noble values of national culture,” dr. Maryani concluded. Humas UNS
