UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta signed a memorandum of understanding with Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Tbk. in an online signing ceremony through the Zoom Cloud Meeting application on Friday (10/9/2021). The ceremony was attended by 60 participants from UNS and PT BSI Tbk. representatives.
The memorandum of understanding regulates the use of sharia banking services and products and the implementation of the Higher Education Tri Dharma and Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program. The collaboration aims to facilitate UNS to utilize sharia banking services and products, synergize and optimize the potentials and resources from both parties to develop the institution, and develop human resources.
BSI was established by the Indonesian government by merging Bank Syariah Mandiri, BNI Syariah, and BRI Syariah on 1 February 2021.
In his remark, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum., hopes that this collaboration could bring positive results for both parties.
“I hope this collaboration does not become a silence MoU, but it could bring collaborative, innovative, and mutualistic activities that benefit both parties,” Prof. Jamal stated.
Dr. Hery Gunardi, M.B.A., the President Director of PT BSI Tbk., supported Prof. Jamal’s statement and said that he is delighted that BSI could collaborate with UNS as a partner in sharia banking products and services development. Dr. Hery hopes that this sharia bank could act as the motor that moves the national economy.
“We hope that the sharia finance and banking could become a motor for the national economy now and in the future,” Dr. Hery stated. Humas UNS
