UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta students provided assistance in Business Registration Number (NIB) issuance for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Karangan Village, Karanganom, Klaten. The students worked under the Student Community Service Program (KKN) UNS Group 01.
The assistance was implemented in collaboration with the One-Stop Integrated Service and Investment Office (DPMPTSP) of Klaten District in Karangan Village Hall on Wednesday (2/3/2022) and was welcomed by the MSME owners in the village.
Aris Munandar from DPMPTSP Klaten explained that NIB was acquired through an OSS application through an Online Single Submission. UNS students help MSMEs to enter the data collected by RT or RW chiefs into the systems. This program was selected because, according to the person in chief, Infusani Rantika Noveta Sari, many MSMEs in the village do not have a business permit.
“This makes business owners have no official authority from the government and face difficulties to develop (their business). On the other hand, low community awareness regarding online permit registration. Therefore, we held this assistance. The output is NIB certificate in the form of file or printout,” Infusani explained.
Under the supervision of Dr. Jaka Suyana, the group hopes that the activities could educate business owners in Karangan Village on the importance of NIB.
“Hopefully, it could educate people on legal protection, providing ease financial access from a financial institution, bank, and other opportunities that could be gained to develop their businesses. Hopefully, (they) could compete at the global level amid the pandemic,” the Accounting Program student explained. Humas UNS
