UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta secured victory in the 2023 Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) Expo XIV. The UNS student team won 3rd place in the cultivation category with their product named Fresh Jamur, a venture specializing in cultivating hygienic and healthy oyster mushrooms.
Fresh Jamur was initiated by two students from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry (Fapet) at UNS, Ine Febriantama and Rafid Haris Kurniawan. The product’s development received guidance from Dr. Ayu Intan Sari, S.Pt., M.Sc., and Putri Permatasari, S.P., M.Si.
Initially, Ine and Rafid introduced Fresh Jamur through the Student Entrepreneurship Development Program (P2MW). This program is organized by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek) of the Republic of Indonesia. The P2MW program took place from March to October 2023, involving a selection process and the implementation of entrepreneurial activities proposed by students.
Their proposed business focused on agribusiness, specifically oyster mushroom cultivation, under the name “FRESH JAMUR: Hygienic and Healthy Oyster Mushroom Cultivation.” The venture boasts a range of advantages, including high-quality oyster mushrooms and a commendable sales track record. The Fresh Jamur team underwent a rigorous proposal selection process to secure funding from Belmawa.
Their venture was subsequently selected as the main product to compete in the KMI Award at the 2023 KMI Expo. The KMI Expo 2023, the pinnacle of the P2MW event, spanned five days from November 13 to 17, 2023, hosted by Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) in Bali. The Fresh Jamur team once again competed to advance to the KMI Expo 2023. This year, a total of 371 universities and 493 teams participated, vying for the KMI Award.
Ine Febriantama expressed her gratitude, “The Fresh Jamur team went through various lengthy stages to reach the KMI EXPO. In this final stage, we showcased our products for three days and presented our products and business to the judges and visitors who visited our booth. Alhamdulillah, after a long process, the Fresh Jamur team successfully won 3rd place.”
Ine Febriantama also expressed hope that in the future, Fresh Jamur could continue to grow, provide many benefits, and become a source of employment for the community.
Fresh Jamur Product
Established in 2022, Ine and Rafid operate Fresh Jamur at a production facility located in Tarub Village RT 02 RW 02, Tarub, Sembungan, Nogosari District, Boyolali Regency, Central Java. They have a mushroom cultivation facility with a capacity of 8,000 mushroom bags. Therefore, the product is capable of producing 25–30 kg per day.
They are committed to managing the Fresh Jamur business from upstream to downstream, covering production, cultivation, processing, distribution, and marketing. This commitment is built to empower the potential and local human resources in the vicinity of the cultivation site.
The advantages of Fresh Jamur include larger, thicker, and cleaner oyster mushrooms. This is due to the selection of high-quality oyster mushroom seeds and wholehearted cultivation processes.
“To maintain customer satisfaction, Fresh Jamur is committed to always providing the best oyster mushrooms because the trust and satisfaction of customers are assets to us,” said Ine Febriantama. Humas UNS
