UNS — Five Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta students initiated psychological assessment and dual feedback system tutoring named Bimbel Klaas!. This idea was proposed by Rizal Galih Pradana (Psychology Program 2018), Aldi Rosyid Rahmadi (Environmental Science Program 2018), Regina Lovey Taqiyyah (Psychology Program 2018), Angela Apriliana (Psychology Program 2018), and Alivia Amadea Theodora (Psychology Program 2019), under the supervision from Fadjri Kirana Anggarani, S.Psi., M.A., a faculty member of Psychology Program Faculty of Medical Science (FK) UNS.
With their idea, the team successfully passed into the National Student Week (Pimnas) 34 at the end on October 2021 that will be held in Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). The tutoring aims to maximize the learning process in students through learning personalized concepts that will help students learning according to their learning style preference and their personality. “Personalized learning concept is implemented through a psychological assessment and dual feedback system as the advantages of this tutoring,” Rizal explained.
Rizal added that psychological assessment is crucial in understanding personality and students’ learning style preferences. In the program implementation, the team collaborates with the certified psychologist to administer tests and classroom planning to achieve more accurate and applicable results for students. The dual feedback system is also employed as the key in learning evaluation.
“Evaluation is conducted each month gradually and involving not only tutors but also psychologists, students, and parents. The monthly evaluation result is used as consideration to improve learning quality in the future,” Rizal added.
The tutoring program has run through a trial for the community, and the result proved to be beneficial and helpful for parents in understanding students’ learning styles. Norma Hidayah, a parent of a student, stated that after participating in the Bimbel Klaas! her children studying more optimally, and the learning style assessment and counseling greatly help her as parents to understand her daughter’s learning style. “The tutors in Bimbel Klaas! are also competent.”
Rizal is committed to ensuring that the tutoring program will continue providing the best to achieve smart Indonesians. Humas UNS
