UNS — The Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta in collaboration with the Indonesian National Armed Force (TNI) organizes the Second Stage of Covid-19 vaccinations for 1,000 students on Saturday (3/7/2021), at the Faculty of Medical Science (FK) UNS Auditorium.
This Second stage vaccination is addressed to the student of the Faculty of Engineering (FT), Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science (FMIPA), Faculty of Agriculture (FP), and the Faculty of Sport (FKOR). Based on the uns.ac.id observation at 08.00 AM Western Indonesia Time (WIB), the students, who had registered through the Vice Dean in their respective Faculty, were queueing in front of the venue by bringing official identification documents such as Id Card (KTP), Student Id, vaccination card, and health screening letter.
The students must first be confirming their attendance at the designed staff and filling a health screening letter. Afterward, they will be allowed to wait for their turn inside the FK UNS Auditorium. The UNS Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, states that this event is a follow-up stage for the first vaccination given to the students of FK UNS on Thursday (1/7/2021). He added that Covid-19 vaccination for the students from FT, FMIPA, FKOR, FK, and FP will be followed with vaccination for the students of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Faculty of Law (FH), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), and Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB) next week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
“On average there will be 1,000 students vaccinated each day. The short preparation was supervised directly by the Dean of FK UNS. It must be completed, hence, it took three days for (vaccinating) 3,000 students,” said Prof. Ahmad Yunus. Further, he explains that the vaccination given to the students shows UNS efforts in preparing and supporting face-to-face learning (PTM). Special for the students who currently are not in Surakarta and have not received the Covid-19 vaccine, he suggested for them to come directly to UNS.
On the same occasion, the Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono explains that his party deploys hundreds of FK UNS students to assist the screening and vaccine injection process. The students are under the supervision of TNI staff. “We attempt to facilitate skills transfer, this involves how to manage vaccination event starting from health screening, injection, and post-vaccine observation,” Prof. Reviono explains.
Prof. Reviono added that, for this second Covid-19 vaccination, FK UNS follows the standard established by the Minister of Health, Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkes RI), including the health screening table, vaccination monitoring, and Post Vaccination Adverse Events (KIPI). “Hopefully, after the vaccination, the students will develop immunity and ready for face-to-face learning with strict health protocol implementation,” he explains.
One of the students who registered for this Covid-19 vaccination is Ainun Rahmansyah Gafar, from Industrial Engineering Study Program FT UNS, who appreciates the steps taken by UNS by providing vaccination for students. Ainun who come from Makassar, Sulawesi Selatan, admits that they are not nervous, since their parents have been vaccinated.
“This is great, considering that in other hospitals, we must be Solo residents to get vaccinated. So, if you are not a resident, we cannot get vaccinated. This is a great opportunity and it is free,” Ainun said. Humas UNS
