UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta has received its University with a Legal Entity (PTNBH) on October 2020. Following this achievement, UNS has taken leaps to align itself with other PTNBH universities. In the non-academic fields, UNS will optimize its Business Management Agency (BPU) performance.
In addition to the existing businesses, like UNS Inn and catering, UNS has planned to establish an incorporated company as mentioned by the Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs UNS, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Sajidan, M. Si. “In business, UNS refers to PP No. 56 of 2020, and UNS as PTNBH will establish a company,” Prof. Sajidan explained in Wedangan Ikatan Alumni (IKA) UNS series 56 on Wednesday (5/5/2021).
The company, Prof. Sajidan added, will bear the name of PT Semar Sarana Sejahtera and will revitalize the existing UNS businesses. These businesses are UNS Inn, catering, bottled drinking water, modular refueling station, and repair shop. The new company will also open new business potentials such as consultancy, event organizer, tourism package, clinic, apothecary, herbal products, health equipment, and other potentials.
This news is supported by the General Manager Operasional (GMO) BPU UNS, Dr. Zainal Arifin, S. T., M. T., who stated that the new company would have a function as a channel for the products from research and innovation performed by UNS academic members and faculty members.
“We will start by optimizing the existing businesses. Then we will accommodate and channels the products in UNS from the Center of Excellence (PUI), LPPM, faculties, or other management,” Dr. Zainal added.
Currently, the company is in the planning stage, and suggestions from academic members and alumni are welcomed to achieve better management for UNS. Humas UNS
