UNS — The student association for Work Health Program (Himakesja) Vocational School (SV) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a general lecture on “HSE in Business Process (Oil & Gas)” on Saturday (22/5/2021). The event was held online through the Zoom Cloud Meeting and was open for the students of the Work and Health Program (K3) and the public.
The Head of K3 Program UNS, Dr. Isna Qodrijati, dr. M.Kes., stated that K3 is a field that could be implemented widely. Thus, students should be equipped with various knowledge in K3. Dr. Isna added that even though the tracer study result showed that most K3 Program graduates work in the manufacturing industry, the program should not leave other sectors behind. “We will not leave other fields. We will learn all K3,” she said.
Trijoko, S.ST., HSE Officer Offshore Marine Seismic, PT. Elnusa Tbk., an alumnus of the program, attended the event as a speaker. Trijoko explained that in Oil and Gas industry, the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) has five stages, Pre-Qualification, Qualification, Pre-Operation, Operation, and Post Operation. In the Pre-Qualification stage, the HSE’s role is to process the Contractor Safety Management System (CSMS) document from the contractor. This document is a requirement for a contractor to be accepted in a firm. HSE fills CSMS form, prepares supporting documents, and organizes the documents.
In the qualification stage, the CSMS document is expanded by adding actual plans during the project, and HSE is expected to comprehend the offer documents fully. The pre-operation stage starts with a contractor winning the tender process. In this stage, HSE prepares HSE Plan, Risk Assessment, ERP, MERP, Bridging Document, Pre-Job Activity, HSE preparation. In the next step, HSE participated in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly HSE Operations. HSE also prepares the assessment for Work in Progress and Final Evaluation to the contractor.
“Final Evaluation is checking everything from the start, the CSMS, tender, PJA, to WIP,” Trijoko explained.
In the last stage, the Post-Operation stage, HSE is required to submit a Customer Satisfaction Survey and a Final Report that includes the achievements, implementation, and performance report.
The event was held interactively, with participants submitting questions to the speaker. This event is an effort to shape excellent graduates from K3 Program. Humas UNS
