UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta prepared two Rumah Sehat for self-quaratine of people tested positive Covid-19. Rumah Sehat 1 is on Merc Building UNS Hospital complex and Rumah Sehat 2 on Building E UNS Student Boarding House, Ngoresan, Jebres, Surakarta.
The Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, stated that the Covid-19 pandemic that entered its second year since March 2020 had not shown any indication of receding. The government has taken various means and policies, including the campaign to wear a mask, physical distancing, washing hands, vaccination, reducing mobility, and Community Movement Control Order (PPKM). The last PPKM policy from 3 July to 2 August is expected to control the Covid-19 spread.
“The high Covid-19 infection numbers encouraged UNS to strengthen its social solidarity and to share through various social activities with all walks of life. Including our action in handling the Covid-19 pandemic,” Prof. Jamal stated on Tuesday (27/7/2021).
Prof. Jamal added that UNS did not stay still since the beginning of the pandemic. The university has launched social action by raising donations from its academic community that reached almost IDR 1 billion. The funds were distributed to students, UNS academic members, and the surrounding community affected by the pandemic. This activity is continued until now, considering the increasing Covid-19 cases.
“Thus, UNS initiated the Rumah Sehat 1 in Merc Building UNS Hospital complex and Rumah Sehat 2 in Building E UNS Student Boarding House, Ngoresan, Jebres, Surakarta,” he added.
Rumah Sehat 1 is designed for self-quarantine that started its operation at the end of January 2021 with 180 beds, three meals time, vitamins, Wi-Fi, sunbathing area, bathroom, washing machine, and other facilities with full supervision of UNS Hospital and psychologists.
Rumah Sehat 2 has 114 rooms with 10 rooms with AC, 228 beds, and 2 bathrooms/room. Patients will have three meals facilities, multivitamins, Wi-Fi, TV, sports facilities, sunbathing area, yards, garden, and cooking utensils.

“Rumah Sehat 1 and 2 UNS for self-quarantine for Covid-19 patients are free as a form of our social solidarity,” Prof. Jamal stated. HUMAS UNS
