UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a medical examination for the Post-Employment Association (PPK) UNS on Wednesday (1/3/2023) at the UNS Faculty of Sports (FKOR) Campus. This event was also in the context of community service on the 47th Dies Natalis UNS.
The Chairperson of the 47th Dies Natalis UNS, Dr. Sapta Kunta Purnama, M.Pd., said that the medical examination event for PPK UNS was a form of concrete action to strengthen the integrity of UNS residents through caring for fellow colleagues who have worked for the progress of UNS.
“As we know, UNS can exist today inseparable from the struggles of our seniors and elders. Also through this activity, it is hoped that all UNS academics can appreciate the services and sacrifices of their predecessors in advancing our beloved UNS,” Dr. Sapta said.
Furthermore, he also expected that this program would also become a forum to strengthen friendships for UNS residents until the end of their lives.
Meanwhile, Head of Community Service for the 47th Dies Natalis UNS, Prof. Dr. dr. Reviono, Sp. P(K) conveyed that the purpose of the examination activity to PPK UNS was for early detection of retirees who currently feel fine.
“However for retirees who already suffer from chronic illnesses, the results of this examination can be used for evaluation. Whether the condition of the disease improves, persists, or worsens,” Prof. Reviono said.
Furthermore, the health checks carried out included laboratory tests, namely a random blood sugar test, cholesterol and uric acid; lung examination namely lung function; eye examination, namely early detection of eye disease; as well as an Ear Nose Throat (THT) examination, namely ear cleaning.
“Our hope is that retirees will always be healthy even though they are old. They also still love UNS as a place to work before. Furthermore, through this activity we share happiness in celebrating the 47th Dies Natalis UNS. We also will try our best to facilitate the needs of anyone, including employees who have served at UNS,” Prof. Reviono stated. Humas UNS
