UNS — The Doctoral Program (S-3) in Indonesian Language Education at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta successfully maintained its excellent accreditation (A) based on the Decision Letter of the Independent Accreditation Institute for Education (LAMDIK) Number 63/SK/LAMDIK/Ak/D/I/2024. This accreditation status is valid for 5 years, from December 21, 2023, to December 20, 2028. This achievement makes the Indonesian Language Education Study Program, at all levels (S-1, S-2, and S-3), accredited as excellent (A).

Previously, a field assessment was conducted on December 13-14, 2023, attended by LAMDIK assessors, namely Prof. Dr. Kisyani Laksono, M.Hum, from Universitas Negeri Surabaya, and Prof. Dr. Drs. Maman Suryaman, M.Pd. This field assessment aimed to evaluate nine criteria: vision, mission, goals, and strategies; leadership, governance, and collaboration; students; human resources; finances, facilities, and infrastructure; education; research; community service; and the outcomes and achievements of the three pillars of university duties. The final result of the assessment and field assessment ranked the Doctoral Program in Indonesian Language Education as Excellent with a score of 373.

The Head of the Doctoral Program in Indonesian Language Education at FKIP UNS, Prof. Dr. Andayani, M.Pd., expressed gratitude for the accreditation achievement of the S-3 Indonesian Language Education Program. She hopes that this doctoral program can become a research-based program that encourages the internationalization of the Indonesian language.

“For the LAMDIK accreditation achievement of the Doctoral Program in Indonesian Language Education at FKIP UNS, I, as the head of the program, am very grateful and would like to express my infinite gratitude to the leaders of UNS, especially Prof. Dr. Sarwiji Suwandi and his staff. The leaders of FKIP, their staff, and all S-3 PBI lecturers who have struggled to advance S-3 PBI UNS. In the future, I hope that the vision of becoming an innovative research-based program that elevates the Indonesian language to an international level and upholds local culture can soon be realized,” Prof. Andayani explained in a statement received by uns.ac.id on Tuesday (1/9/2024).

This is in line with the scientific vision of the Doctoral Program in Indonesian Language Education at FKIP UNS, which aspires to be a center for the study and development of Indonesian language and literature education that excels at the international level based on technology and the noble values of national culture.

Prof. Andayani emphasized that the presence of the Doctoral Program in Indonesian Language Education aims to produce doctors who can be educators in the field of Indonesian Language Education. These individuals should be scientists with faith and devotion to God Almighty, practice Pancasila and the noble values of the nation, possess noble morals, integrity, and teaching, research, and community service skills. The program also aims to produce doctors who can be critical, creative, productive, and innovative researchers in both science and education in general, addressing various societal issues in development.
