UNS — Journal Management Unit (UPJ) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a series of training for scientific article writing from Classroom Action Research (PTK). The “Webinar Training for Classroom Action Research and PTK Publication” was held on Saturday (13/11/2021) online through the Zoom Meeting.
Prof. Dr. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Si., as Vice-Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs FKIP UNS, in his opening remark, mentioned that the scientific revolution in the education world is greatly beneficial and important in educating the nation through research and writing. “Scientific writing will start a culture as researcher and writer,” Prof. Slamet stated.
With Dr. Bramastia, M.Pd., a faculty member of Postgraduate School FKIP UNS, as a moderator, the Webinar invited three speakers. Dr. Drs. Yuli Bangun Nursanti, M.Pd., the Chairwoman of Education and Culture Office of Womogiri District, acted as the first speaker and delivered material on the legal basis of PTK and its objectives.
The second speaker, Dr. Farida Nurhasanah, M.Pd., faculty member of Mathematics Education Program FKIP UNS, explained the importance of PTK for teachers. Dr. Farida stated that there are four reasons why teachers need to implement PTK: professional requirement, replication of theory, context, and methodology, providing evidence and track records of experiences, and bridging the academia and professional fields.
The third speaker, Woro Sri Hastuti, M.Pd., a faculty member of Elementary School Education Program (PGSD) Faculty of Education Science (FIP) Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), explained the benefits of PTK for a teacher. The four benefits of PTK for teachers are improving the learning process in the classroom, as a real action that is believed to be better than the generally implemented actions, solving real problems in the classroom.
“Lastly, improving learning quality while finding a scientific answer on why such issue could be solved using the implemented action,” Woro explained. Humas UNS
