UNS — Student Association of Office Administration Education Program (Himadistra) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held an online webinar through the Zoom Cloud Meeting on Saturday (20/11/2021). The Webinar discussed “The Importance of Time Management in Human Life” and was opened by the Vice-Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Si.

In his opening remark, Prof. Slamet mentioned that wasted time could become a sword that kills because time shapes, forges, and drives people to do something meaningful for their life. “Whoever that respect and disciplined, could manage time well, will get the best results,” Prof. Slamet stated.

Himadistra FKIP UNS Shares Time Management Tips

The first speaker in the Webinar, Roulina Br Sihaloho, S.Pd., shared the definition of time management in her material “Time management: Starting or Lamenting.” Time management, according to her, is self-management in dealing with time in the most effective and efficient way. “Through scheduling, control over time, the scale of priority, organized will, and not procrastinating,” she explained.

Roulina added that through time management, a person could improve their life orderliness, self-confidence, and discipline. However, there are always challenges in implementing time management, such as the reluctance to go out of the comfort zone, an invitation to hang out, social media, sudden activities, and the environment.

“Someone with good time management will have good creativity, innovation, life quality, and personality,” Roulina added.

Himadistra FKIP UNS Shares Time Management Tips

The following material was delivered by Riana Isti Muslikhah, M.Pd., a faculty member of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), who shared material on “Time Management for University Students.” Riana stated that everyone has the same time supply; some people share the same work condition, produce the same thing and the same time period, but have different achievements.

“The time that has passed will not come back. Usually, time is used only for things people like,” Riana said.

She continued with the importance of time management, its benefits, and priority scale, which was concluded with a question-and-answer session. Humas UNS
