UNS — The Student Association (HMP) of D-4 Midwife Program (Himadan) Faculty of Medical Science (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a Social Services (Baksos) to Yayasan Lentera Surakarta. This activity was held concurrently with foundation accreditation by Surakarta City Social Service and Representatives of the Ministry of Social Affairs. The social services were held by handing staple foods to Yayasan Lentera Surakarta.
Nafisa Anggraeni, a manager in Himadan FK UNS, stated that this activity aims to build friendship and solidarity between her association and Yayasan Lentera. Located in the Kusuma Bakti Heroes Cemetery Complex owned by Surakarta Municipal Government, this foundation is the first in Indonesia that houses people with HIV/AIDS. Nafisa added that they took personal approach through games and storytelling about the life in the residence during their visit. “The children were amiable and easy to approach,” she added. Nafisya said that even though their assistance was not much, her team could see the smiles and happiness.
This activity was held on Saturday (23/5/2021) and attended by 11 HMP managers and 40 children in Panti Lentera Solo. Nafisa hopes that this service will strengthen the connection between HMP and Yayasan Lentera.
“Hopefully, the social spirit of Himadan members get stronger and continue to give happiness to their surroundings,” she concluded. Humas UNS
