UNS — The Scholarship from Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) opened registration on May 2021. This scholarship requires its applicants to prepare an essay on the applicant’s contribution to Indonesia. Responding to this issue, the Association of LPDP Awardee Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a webinar to discuss this requirement in “Success Keys in Preparing Personal Statement and Contribution Essay for Indonesia”. The webinar was held on Tuesday (1/6/2021) through the Zoom Cloud Meeting platform, with around 200 participants from various professions and hometowns.
The Chairman of the Association, Danan Tricahyono, who is also a student of the Master Program in History Education, stated that this webinar is the first series of LPDP Socialization held by the UNS Chapter. They will hold a similar event in July on a different topic and speaker from LPDP.
Febi Junaidi, M.Pd., UNS Doctoral Student in Indonesia Language, attended as speaker in the event after his Master’s and Doctoral studies were funded by LPDP. In his material, her reminded that applicants should follow the update in registration requirements and check their registration account frequently. He added that the applicant should prepare the best personal statement and essay contribution. “The contribution you write in your essay should be structured. The idea should be applicable after you graduated. The contribution should also benefit the community around you,” he added.
Applicants who have low confidence with their lack of experience should not be worried. Febi suggested that they rest assured as long as their study objective and contribution meet the target and fulfill all requirements. He is optimistic that they will pass the administrative selection.
The LPDP application is open until 4 June with three tracks, regular (Regular Scholarship and Major Global Universities), affirmation track (Affirmation Region Scholarship, Scholarship for People with Disabilities, and Scholarship for Underprivileged Students with Bright Academic Achievements), and targeted group track (PNS/TNI/POLRI and Entrepreneurship Scholarship).
