UNS — The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) RI, Dr. Zainudin Amali, attended the Open Examination of Doctoral Promotion Examination in the Doctoral Program in Sports Science, Faculty of Sports (FKOR) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta as an examiner. The examination was held on Tuesday (22/6/2021) through the Zoom Cloud Meeting.
Dr. Zainudin Amali became an external examiner from Sulistiyono’s dissertation titled “The Development of Training Model Based on the Experience Learning to Develop Skills and Characters of Football Students in 9 -12 Years Old (Study of Development in Football School in Sleman District)”. On the occasion, Dr. Zainudin Amali also invited Vice Chairman I of Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), Iwan Budianto, and the Dean of Faculty of Sports Science (FIK) Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes), Prof. Dr. Tandiyo Rahayu, to attend the open examination.
For 20 minutes after Sulistiyono’s presentation, the Minister appreciated Sulistiyono’s idea on the games experience learning. The Minister also mentioned that this study could answer the low Indonesian National Team achievement in the last 30 years. Dr. Zainudin Amali also praised the title as an exciting research topic and that the low national football performance is likely caused by the lack of training for young athletes. The lack of training, he added, is due to the absence of a clear basic design for team training in Indonesia.
“A Survey from an international institute showed that 77% of Indonesian population like football. Therefore, the President issued the Presidential Instruction Number 3 of 2019 to accelerate football development (training in Indonesia),” Dr. Zainudin Amali explained.
Sulistiyono is the first doctor to graduate from the Doctoral Program in Sports Science FKOR UNS with a GPA of 3.80 (out of 4.00). His open doctoral examination was led by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho as the chairman of the board of examiners. The examination was also attended by Dr. Rony Syaifullah (Vice-Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs FKOR UNS) as secretary, Prof. Sugiyanto as promotor, Prof. Dr. Agus Kristiyanto (Vice-Dean for Human Resources, Finance, and Logistics Affairs Postgraduate School UNS) as co-promotor, and Dr. Sapta Kunta (Dean of FKOR UNS) as co-promotor.
The online examination was also attended by the Rector of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), Prof. Sumaryanto and the Rector of Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa), Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, as external examiners. Humas UNS
